Posting rules

Pilot categories

Community (free stuff, lost & found, garage sales, volunteering, carpooling, swaps), items for sale, services, jobs, rentals (over 31 days) and obituaries. Vehicles, animals, short-term chalets and property sales will come later.

Not allowed

Weapons, firearms, parts, ammunition, replicas and airsoft; prohibited weapons (butterfly knives, brass knuckles, etc.).
Cannabis, alcohol, tobacco and vaping products, medication.
Loans, credit, cryptocurrency, investments, lotteries and raffles.
Adult content, dating, escort services.
Counterfeits, stolen goods, ID documents, licence plates.
Products banned or recalled in Canada: baby walkers, drop-side cribs, expired car seats.
Wild game, sport-caught fish, wild leek, fireworks.
Tickets resold above face value.
Live animals (for now). Lost or found pets go in Community; crates, carriers, leashes and other gear go in For sale › Pet supplies.

Rentals

Don't refuse or discourage children, pregnant people, people on social assistance, students, seniors, or anyone based on origin, religion or another Charter ground. "Non-smoking" and "no pets" are allowed.
Don't ask for a security or damage deposit or post-dated cheques: only the first month can be asked in advance (Civil Code, art. 1904).
Rentals over 31 days only.

Jobs

No age, sex, origin or other Charter-ground requirements.
French text. If English is required, explain why (Charter of the French language).
Pay at least Québec's minimum wage.
No "mystery shopper", cheque-cashing or easy-money offers.

Obituaries

Posted by the family or the funeral home only, verified before publication. See the legal notice.

Good practice

One ad per item or service; no duplicates.
Real photos, no logos or images taken elsewhere.
The right price and category.
Mark it "sold" as soon as it's done.
