La Petite-Nation’s main roads

Québec 511 only covers the ministry’s network. For a closed municipal road or an icy hill on a back road, please contact your town.

Winter driving in La Petite-Nation

  • Winter tires: mandatory in Québec from December 1 to March 15.
  • Before you go: check Québec 511 (website, app or dial 511). It covers numbered routes and the highway, but not municipal roads.
  • Back roads and lake roads are cleared by the town or a private contractor; on a storm morning, they are often in worse condition than the main road.
  • Clear the whole car, roof included, and keep a shovel, snow brush, washer fluid and a blanket in the trunk.
  • Cell service: there are dead zones in the north of the MRC. Let someone know which route you are taking.
