Where to see live music and shows in La Petite-Nation
A pub with a real stage, a 357-seat hall where comedians test new material, punk in Ripon, a square dance and a singer every Friday. Our go-to spots for a night out.

"There's nothing to do here at night." You still hear it, mostly from people who just moved here. It's not true. You just have to know where to look, because live music in La Petite-Nation tends to hide in a village pub, a co-op market or a community centre.
Here are our spots, from proper theatres to bars, with what usually plays and when.
Theatres
Salle Desjardins de la Petite-Nation, Papineauville
The region's real theatre: 357 seats in the auditorium of Louis-Joseph-Papineau high school. Les Productions Les 2 Vallées handles the programming, September to April, mostly Fridays and Saturdays.
It leans heavily on comedy, often try-out shows. That means you see big Québec names in a small room before everyone else. Fall 2026 brings Louis-José Houde, P-A Méthot, Guy Nantel and José Gaudet, with Virginie Fortin and Alain Choquette in 2027. There's music too. Tickets are on lepointdevente.com.

Le St-André, Saint-André-Avellin
Half pub, half venue. The room was expanded by 40 seats, but you're still close to the stage, which is the whole point. Lots of tribute acts (AC/DC, the Tragically Hip, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd), some comedy, and well-known names from the Québec music scene. Fall 2026: Bernard Adamus, David Pineau, Yann Perreau. Mostly Saturday nights.
Good to know: Auberge Petite-Nation is right next door, and the room is cheaper with a show ticket.

Brewpubs and bars
Le Bankeur, Montebello
Brewmaster Alain Larivière's microbrewery, with a stage for rock shows and tribute bands. Several Saturdays a month. You're drinking a beer inspired by the old seigneury of La Petite-Nation while Arkansas or a System of a Down tribute plays. Doesn't happen everywhere.

Every Friday, all year, it's Market Fridays: dinner at the bistro and a show at 6:30 p.m., with a different style each week. Extra shows sometimes land on Saturdays.
