Farmers' markets in La Petite-Nation, from summer to Christmas
Saturday morning in Ripon, the little market huts in Bowman, Fridays in La Salette, then the fall and Christmas markets. Where to do your market run in La Petite-Nation.

The farmers' market is the real village square. You go for tomatoes and come home with a jar of honey, everybody's news and a supper invitation. In La Petite-Nation there's a market most days of the week if you know where to look, and the season runs a lot longer than you'd think.
Here are the markets in our directory and calendar, from spring through to the Christmas markets.
Ripon, Saturday morning
The big one. Coopérative Place du Marché runs its market Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from Patriots' Day weekend in May to Thanksgiving. Seasonal vegetables, lots of organic, local products, artisans. And brunch at the café-bistro, which settles the eat-before-or-after question.
This is where the village crosses paths on Saturdays. Cottagers too.

What we love about Ripon is that the building stays busy year-round. On Friday nights, the Vendredis du marché serve supper at the bistro with a concert at 6:30 p.m., a different style every week.

To close the season, the Bal des Citrouilles (Pumpkin Ball) lands on Thanksgiving weekend, October 10 and 11, 2026, with family activities around the village and a special market at Place du Marché.

Bowman: huts in the park
The Bowman public market sets up in Parc du Centenaire on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, June to the end of summer. Little market huts, local producers, a stand of Outaouais products and a covered play area for the kids. Every Saturday has a theme.
For Bowman locals, it's the weekly get-together. For anyone driving the 307, it's a good reason to stop.

Marché de Salette, on the 309, is a Friday summer market with about ten vendors, fruit and vegetables. Small and simple, and handy for stocking up before a weekend at the cottage. Hours aren't always posted, so call first.

Three more Christmas markets usually come back, but we don't have 2026 dates yet.
